Adversity is never far away.
We will all face adversity at some point in our lives. How we choose to respond to it will have a major affect on our happiness, and the happiness of the people who surround us.
Compared to the tragedies that many people face mine is a trivial example, although at the time it was the last thing I needed. I was due to go on stage in a few minutes to give a presentation to an influential audience. Many of whom had travelled from all parts of the world to be at this conference.
I have been in this situation many times before and enjoy the challenge of presenting new ideas to large groups. However I suddenly felt ill and the stage in front of me was the last place that I wanted to be. The clock was ticking and I had think fast.
Should I cancel at the last minute, or could I figure out how to draw upon hidden resources to get me through the next hour? This short video explains how I stumbled across an unconventional idea, and is followed by the whole presentation. You will be the judge as to whether this unconventional approach worked or not.
