The Paradox of Venom: Confronting Fears and Discovering Cures
Hello Everyone,
I have always had a phobia of snakes. But as a doctor, I’ve also had a morbid fascination with them. Recently, respecting Australia’s most potent wildlife just went to a whole new level for me. I am proud to share that I am now officially certified in venomous snake handling, catch, and release!
When dealing with species like Eastern Browns, Taipans, and Death Adders, calm composure and precision aren’t optional—they’re everything. This hands-on experience served as a visceral reminder of a profound biological truth.
From the Rod of Asclepius to modern pharmacology, medicine and snakes share an ancient paradox. Once revered as emblems of healing, deadly venoms now drive breakthrough therapeutics—inspiring ACE inhibitors for hypertension and antiplatelet drugs for heart disease. What once threatened life has become one of medicine’s most potent tools for saving it.
Mastering fear, maintaining composure under high stakes, and transforming the things that challenge us into tools for growth are core elements of cultivating a winning mindset. The Psychoic state of mind is the sweet spot of peak performance that makes people lucky, and lives somewhere deep in our reptile brain, somewhere between the psychotic and psychic states of mind.
If you are looking to magnify your own focus and reframe the obstacles in your life, I invite you to explore these concepts further in my book, Psychoic Revolution: Magnify your intuition and success.
Embrace the things that challenge you—you might just find they hold the cure.
Best regards,
Doc Steve
