Start With Baby Steps
Here are more examples of how visualisation exercises have helped improve performance, taken from my book Get Lucky Now.
Sometimes, there is a danger that future goals can feel very remote and may even discourage you from starting your journey. When projects are broken down into small steps, however, the most impossible task suddenly seems much more reachable.
The following visualization exercise brings together many of the concepts that I have already described.
You have spent time choosing your goals wisely. You know all the skills that will be necessary to reach your goal. You have practiced your confidence techniques, but you are still not certain that your ability is equal to the task. This negative thought decreases your chance of being successful.
Learn From The Best
So guide your mind in a different direction and ask yourself this question:
“Who do I know who has all the skills I will need?”
You do not need to know this person directly. It could be a famous celebrity, scientist, or sports personality.
Close your eyes and imagine that you are being introduced to this person. He or she is happy to talk to you, and you have all the time in the world to ask your questions and listen to his or her advice. Now stretch your creativity even further and imagine that you are floating into this other person’s body and seeing the world through his or her eyes and feeling through his or her senses.
You Have More Gifts Than You Think
This exercise will help you to gain an understanding of the skills you need and the confidence to use them. We greatly underestimate our own abilities, and often all that is necessary to release them is to change our perspective.
So now you are ready to develop even more of your own visualizations in different areas of your life and join the lucky people.
Ask yourself this question: “What three things can I do now that can help me immediately, or at least in the very near future, to make more luck and find more health, wealth, and happiness?”
NLP training
Visualisation is a huge subject and therefore is included in my NLP coaching programs.
